EMMY AWARD WINNER

Suzen Baraka won a regional Emmy Award for a PSA she wrote, starred in and produced titled "Vote", highlighting her experiences as a Black and Korean woman in America during the Covid-19 pandemic, and the Black Lives Matters protests during the Summer of 2019. The poem "Vote" was originally commissioned by Poetic People Power, and published in Kevin Powell's literary anthology: 2020 The Year That Changed America. The short was co-produced and directed by DC native Jami Ramberan of Imajre Films.

My goal is to build a career that honors the messiness of human behavior, while highlighting the truths that ultimately unite us and remind us that we are not alone.
